The Atrium-Collaboration with Emmett Glynn-LCC April 2012

'The Discoverable' was a term used by sound artist Max Neuhaus. I used his idea of 'The Discoverable' and adapted it to create a temporal interactive installation where additive, pure-tone-synthesis compositions were triggered by floor pads at the bottom of a stairwell. The tones were composed in sync with the average time it took people to journey up the stairs. As observed by Bergson and his experience with clocks,"You can be oblivious to the sound for a long while, then in a second of ticking it can create in the mind unbroken the long diminishing parade of time you didn't hear."?
